WIN has had three successful speaker events. Our most recent event took place in June 2020. Given the pandemic, we pivoted to a virtual gathering and had a Zoom event focusing on “Fundraising Strategies in the New Normal.” Panelists shared their experiences with virtual fundraising and leading nonprofit organizations through these trying times.
Panelist Lori Britton, founder of Community Resource Consulting, helped organize All Together, a successful virtual gathering for Epiphany School.
Panelist Shoma Haque is the Executive Director of Steps to Success in Brookline, which held the virtual event, Virtual Step Up Celebration. She has been in the Boston nonprofit arena for over 20 years.
Panelist Kristen Sherman is the Director of Development of Rehearsal for Life, which had a fun virtual event, Virtually Banned in Boston. Kristen has vast experience in a number of nonprofit areas in both Boston and New York.
Panelist Tara Small is the One Love Regional Executive Director for Boston, which held a unique event Yards for Yeardley in April and May. Tara has many years of experience in the nonprofit sector.
The discussion was moderated by Bekah Salwasser, Executive Director of the Red Sox Foundation and co-Founder of the Women In Nonprofit (WIN) Network.
Our next event will take place virtually on October 7. The topic will be “Fundraising in the Current Climate” and will address issues of racial equity and social justice.
